Cree LED — J Series® JR5050C 6-V E Class (5050, 5 W)
JR5050CWT-E-U40EB0000-N0000001 is part of the third-generation J Series® JR5050C sets a new benchmark for light output and efficacy in a standard 5050 package. With a typical 480 lm at 400 mA (4000 K, 70 CRI) and up to ~213 lm/W, it lets you hit higher lumen targets with fewer emitters—reducing LED count, PCB size, optics and heatsinking for a lower total system cost. The device keeps an industry-compatible 5.0 × 5.2 mm footprint with a thin 0.75 mm height and a robust 6-V configuration, simplifying string design across indoor directional, street and outdoor-area luminaires. Flux is binned at 25 °C while chromaticity is binned at 85 °C to better reflect in-application colour behaviour, and you can select ANSI CCTs from 6500 K down to 2200 K in 70/80/90 CRI for anything from clean daylight to warm ambience.
Electrically, JR5050C supports up to 1 A forward current with a typical forward voltage of ~5.63 V at 400 mA. A low thermal resistance from junction to solder point helps you keep junction temperatures in check, with an operating range of −40 °C to 105 °C and a 125 °C maximum junction temperature. The package is
UL® Recognised (E495478) and both RoHS and REACH compliant, shipped on EIA-481D tape-and-reel (2,000 pcs/reel) for efficient SMT
assembly. For optical control, the device presents a uniform ~120° FWHM distribution. Pair it with quality drivers and a sound thermal path and you’ll unlock a compact, long-lived, high-LPW light engine for roadway, highbay/lowbay and architectural form-factors.

Order & binning (summary)
Order codes indicate power class, CCT, CRI, forward-voltage bin and kitted 3-step chromaticity (e.g. JR5050CWT-E-H40EB0000-N0000001 for 4000 K, 80 CRI).
Flux groups span R2–S2; forward-voltage bins BM–BP. Full bin maps available on request.
Design notes
- Derate drive current at higher ambient Ta and higher Rθj-a; observe the Operating Limits curves.
- Chromaticity shift vs current and temperature is characterised; select kitted 3-step for tighter colour control.
- Follow JEDEC reflow guidance (peak ~235–245 °C); device is MSL 3—observe handling/baking rules once MBP is opened.
