Description
This Aluminium PCB is very flexible. It is designed to take 4 leds, with 3.45 × 3.45mm base, so will suit Cree XPG, XPG2, XPL, XHP35, Nichia NVSL219 and numerous other 3535 leds with the same base dimensions. The board layout is such that the 4 leds can be driven in
- Series wired on boards
- Parallel for multiple boards
Thermal Path
There is a Dielectric under the thermal pad of LED
The MCPCB-XP120QUAD-LIN module requires careful attention to mounting and cooling to ensure that the junction temperature of the LED is kept well below the maximum rating as specified in the LED documentation published by Led Manufacturers
For optimal cooling, we recommend that the module be mounted to a suitable finned heat sink (aluminium or copper) that is exposed to open air. The module can be mounted to a heat sink in various ways
- 120mm pressure sensitive, thermally conductive tape (Recommended)
Before fastening the module to the heat sink, ensure that the two mating surfaces are perfectly flat and clean in order to maximise heat transfer to the the sink.
Mechanical fasteners are not recommended for this module.
The bottom of the LED MCPCB is electrically neutral, so it is not necessary to electrically isolate the base from the cooling surface.
Please note the use of Thermal Adhesives makes the PCB unlikely to be removed for servicing. Please consider this if removal of the board is desired as another TIM may be a better choice.
Optics Support
The board can accept Ledil, Carclo, Khatod, Ledlink etc for 10,14,16,20mm Optics. Optics need to be adhered to PCB with adhesive

Termination
The ends of the PCB of has Anode and Cathode pads. The PCB can be standalone or wired in groups in Series or parallel.

Example grab the forward voltage from the left PCT table, this is based on the PCB with 4 of the XPG-3 S6 Highest Flux bin leds
- Enter the forward voltage
- Select current which will preload based on al currents available at that vf
- Then select board qty if > 1 or just 1
- Hit the calculate button
- all possible drivers that meet this will show
