Cooling Recommendations

To maintain the LED’s junction temperature below the maximum rating, proper mounting and cooling are essential:

• Finned Heat Sink: Recommended for optimal cooling, using either aluminium or copper heat sinks exposed to open air.
• Mounting Options:
  • 20mm pressure-sensitive, thermally conductive pads (recommended)
  • Graphite 20mm Star Thermal Pads (recommended, but not adhesive)
  • Thermal Compound (requires mechanical fasteners)

Note: Ensure that mating surfaces are flat and clean for maximum heat transfer.

Electrical Characteristics

• The bottom of the LED MCPCB is electrically neutral, negating the need for electrical isolation from the cooling surface.
• Be cautious with thermal adhesives as they can make PCB removal difficult, potentially complicating servicing.
