If you have made a significant investment in lighting and your seeing failure well in advance of expected lifetimes promised and your out of warranty we can likely get your lights working again. Our service is not likely to be cost effective for small bulb failures.

Case Study: Wholefoods
We recently were called into a whole foods grocery store. The owner was starting to see failures in his high bay lights. It commenced with a small qty of failures and has proceeded with a growing number of failures. The failures were of a varying nature either complete failure, partial led fails or reduction in output. Perhaps most annoying for the client was the light issues commenced virtually right after the warranty ran out. On removal and inspection of the lights it became very apparent heat had been the main culprit, with leds actually having dry jointed so badly, the led’s had desoldered from the PCB pads. The heatsink appeared adequate for the power rating of the lamp.
The issue however was that the Chinese manufacturer for some reason has sealed the led engine in a manner that equated to IP6x level of protection. This seemed odd given the high bay was always intended for indoor application and no exposure to moisture ingress. The net effect of this was the small sealed engine was cooking in its own radiant energy despite the adequate heatsink, there was no vent point to allow the escape of the huge heat build up directly around the led engine.
Over time this cycling of radiant heat caused the leds to operate beyond their rated specification and ultimately premature failure. We repaired the light engine’s and created venting in the housing so the leds would not exceed temperature ratings
